Varanasi: For Spiritual Health

Things To Do In Varanasi

Take a boat-ride down the ghats along River Ganga (especially at dawn). Learn yoga at the many yoga centres around town. Volunteer at the Learn for Life Society that runs a school for disadvantaged children and encourages travellers to lend a helping hand. Go see landmarks such as Kashi Vishwanath temple, Durga temple, Alamgir Mosque and Dufferin Bridge.

Varanasi has a police helpline dedicated to women and though incidents of street harassment do occur, they are rare.

Where To Stay In Varanasi

Varanasi is best enjoyed by staying in riverside hotels such as ‘Palace on the Ganges’ or ‘Scindhia Guesthouse’. These offer uninterrupted views of the ghats.
