12.53% More Indians Now Travel to the Philippines
Despite the series of setbacks suffered in 2013, the Philippines has seen an increase of Indian tourists from 46,395 in 2012 to 52,206 in 2013.
The Department of Tourism, Philippines (DOT), says that India has registered the highest annual growth of 12.53% in visitor arrivals, the highest in their South Asia tourist markets.
The DOT welcomed a total of 46,81,307 foreign visitors in 2013, surpassing the 42,72,811 arrivals recorded in 2012 by 9.56%.
The country is currently preparing for Visit the Philippines Year (VPY) 2015, which will feature a calendar of events and an exciting mix of activities inviting all to come and partake of the fun.
Philippines will play host to a number of international conferences and events, which included the 5th World Ecotourism Conference in Cebu this February and WEF East Asia Summit in May.
