So we’ve added Hamilton Island, the little slice of heaven, to our 2016 holiday bucket list, and here are 8 reasons why it needs to be on yours too!
The usual cliches fall short when it comes to Hamilton Island. Pristine, idyllic, breathtaking perfectly describe this sun-drenched island, located within the Whitsunday islands group off the east coast of Australia. A stay in Hamilton is like having your own little tropical paradise complete with magnificent views of the tranquil coral sea, quiet walks by the sea, romantic rides on a catamaran, cosy lunches in pristine nooks tucked away on the island and massages overlooking the azure waters.
#1 For The Extravagance
Celebrate togetherness by escaping to luxury, with all the comfort and indulgences that you could ask for. Watch impossibly beautiful views during a stunning sunset sail on one of the island’s yachts or enjoy a gourmet food and wine experience with a romantic dinner cruise. A taste of the best of wines handpicked by a sommelier or a three-course menu on one of the island’s acclaimed restaurants during your stay are other awesome options. For a truly decadent way to unwind, opt for a soothing rejuvenation package at the island’s day spas: Spa Wumurdaylin and Spa Qualia, perched atop one of the highest points. With soft gentle breeze wafting in and exotic oil treatments waiting within, could there be a more opulent way to relax?
#2 For A Romantic Escape
Hamilton Island has several tours designed just for the two of you. They let you explore some of the most secluded and stunning spots of the island, such as the Stepping Stones, Paradise Lagoon and Manta Ray Drop Off. You can also hire a Reef plane to visit one of the most romantic and popular sites for declarations of love since 1975 in the Whitsundays — the Heart Reef — a natural composition of coral in the shape of a heart. If it’s a quiet day of togetherness you want, opt for a personal beach drop-off with a packed gourmet picnic lunch and spend the day snorkelling and swimming around North and West Henning Island.

At Hamilton Island, you can create unforgettable memories for the entire family. There are many fun activities that you and your kids can enjoy here, from a game of mini golf to a trip to Wild Life Hamilton. Also a trip to the Wild Life Hamilton Island, where you can get up close to some iconic Australian wildlife is a must!
