In the midst of a bustling city stands a tranquil pool, known to calm and soothe wandering souls. Part of Walkeshwar Temple Complex, the ancient Banganga Tank has an interesting origin story. Legend tells of how during the quest to bring Sita back from Lanka, a thirsty Lord Rama sent his brother out to find some water. Lord Lakshmana shot an arrow (baan) into the ground and out gushed a tributary of River Ganga. This site, now known as the Banganga Tank, is considered sacred.
