Top 10 Fun Things To Do In Melbourne, Australia
Melbourne is a spectacular city and has many hidden treasures that one can explore. Here, I’ve suggested a couple of things to do in Melbourne, which are my personal favorites. Hope you like them and have as beautiful a vacation as I did.
#1 Fun Things To Do In Melbourne – Eureka Skydeck
Created to reach for the sky, nothing you have ever experienced will prepare you for the awe-inspiring view of Melbourne from the Southern Hemisphere’s highest viewing platform, Eureka Skydeck. Not to be missed is the adrenaline rush of ‘The Edge’, a glass cube which projects 3 meters out from the building—with you in it—suspended almost 300 meters above ground!
#2 Melbourne Attractions – Penguin Parade
The Penguin Parade is Australia’s most popular wildlife attraction and one of my favourites. It is home to the largest Little Penguin colony in the world. Every evening at dusk, over a thousand wild Little Penguins emerge from the sea and march across the beach to their sand dune burrows. Witness the magical and fascinating procession of the little fellas with your families!

#3 One Of The Best Melbourne Activities – Peninsula Hot Springs
Peninsula Hot Springs is a natural hot spring and day spa centre around 90 minutes from Melbourne. Natural thermal mineral waters flow into the pools and private baths provide a charmingly simple and serene setting for you and your family. Bathe in the naturally healing waters of mineral rich thermal pools and rejuvenate yourself.

#4 Melbourne Attractions – Wunderkammer
Bored with those usual normal museums? I’d head for the Wunderkammer. The name itself means, ‘Cabinet of Curiosities’ in German. This is one place you have to visit if you like rare and creepy masterpieces, fossils, dead animal heads, framed insects etc. and even if you aren’t, visit it just for the pleasure of how weird and wacky it is, compared to normal museums and stores you’d regularly see.

#5 Fun Things To Do In Melbourne – Melbourne Aquarium
Melbourne Aquarium’s 2.2 million liter Oceanarium features a panoramic Fish Bowl viewing area. Intimidating sharks, massive stingrays, turtles and hundreds of fish swim overhead and make you feel as though you are underwater.
#6 Visit Melbourne For Crown
Crown, Melbourne’s premier entertainment venue, boasts of over 40 restaurants, cafes and bars, cinemas, casinos, an indoor amusement park, plus a live entertainment theatre and two nightclubs. I love the Christmas Spectacular and Chinese New Year, which are free attractions. Little wonder then, that Crown is known as A World of Entertainment!
#7 Fun Things To Do In Melbourne – The Haunted Melbourne Tour
The Haunted Melbourne Tour is one of the more offbeat attractions of Melbourne that I enjoy—it it challenges that spooky streak in me. You can come face to face with the haunted, spooky past of Melbourne. These tours do not take more than 2 hours and it is a great activity to indulge in with your friends and family.

#8 Things To See In Melbourne – Yarra Valley
For a more sublime experience, rise above the Yarra Valley at sunrise on a scenic hot air balloon flight—a tranquil way to experience the wonders of the Australian landscape. A sunrise balloon flight starts just before dawn. I was spellbound by the breathtaking views of forests, farms and corridors of vines. And when you set down you’re in for a lovely breakfast of sparkling wine and gourmet local produce at a Yarra Valley winery. Buy photos of the flight so you’ll remember this once-in-a-lifetime experience, forever.

And talking about breakfast, Melbourne is the coffee capital of Australia. The aroma of coffee wafts from an uncountable number of cafés and you cannot afford to leave Melbourne without enjoying its unique coffee. Have no idea where to begin your coffee journey? Try Brunswick Street in Fitzroy and this coffee experience will stay with you for a long, long time. You can always hire a car in Melbourne and travel around CBD.

Not had your fill of Australia? Head out to other big name attractions such as Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges. Healesville Sanctuary and Puffing Billy have entertained children and their parents for generations. Enjoy a family picnic surrounded by stunning flowers or towering mountain ash trees. Explore the regional farms to purchase fresh produce and gourmet dairy treats, talk to the locals or let the kids pick their own berries and cherries.
